After our first week of online teaching and learning, we are amazed at how teachers and students are adapting to the online environment, including using the internet itself as learning material.

During this Year 7 lesson on cryptography, students started to understand the difference between symmetric and asymmetric encryption, discussing the limitations of symmetric encryption such as the transmission of the key. Later they explored public key encryption (asymmetric) and the reasons why it is so much more secure, and ultimately the standard encryption used on the internet.
