Congratulations to Oskar (Year 7) who participated in the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (Extended Round), held in Bali, Indonesia, on 17 January 2026. Through his dedication and strong problem-solving skills, Oskar received the Bronze Award for SEAMO X 2026 Paper C, after placing in the 60th percentile or higher among top competitors from 22 countries. Congratulations to ISS Year 9 student Platon on his certification for the HSK Chinese proficiency test which he recently sat. HSK is a standardized Mandarin Chinese language proficiency test for non-native speakers. There are 6 levels of the test, and Platon successfully passed the level 1 exam which consists of listening and reading, in which students are required to learn at least 300 Chinese characters.
