One of our traditions here at the International School of Samui is the Christmas Carols by Candlelight from the Primary School bundled up with a buzzing Christmas Fair from the Senior School.
Our Primary teachers led their students in performing in front of their parents on Tuesday evening before the Christmas break. All our primary students from Reception to Year 6 serenaded the parents together using the power of their voice and sweetness!
Before and after the Carols were sung, a Christmas Fair ran alongside where visitors enjoyed homemade minced pies and sweet treats from the Senior School kitchen and other specialty products from students and parents.
We certainly felt the spirit of the ISS community at its strongest. All families and their invitees came in to enjoy an evening of songs, dances and other musical performances from the children.
For some, Christmas is not Christmas without the cold weather and snow. But on a tropical island like Samui, a not-so-usual chilly evening combined with familiar songs from back home gave everyone a feeling of nostalgia taking us back to our younger years.
