Father Christmas visits children on Samui

Many children have been waiting for this time of the year, when they get to sit on Santa's lap and tell him their Christmas wish. We know how special this is for our students, especially coming from different Western backgrounds that celebrate Christmas.

So we invited Father Christmas to come and spend time with the students of the International School of Samui and we also invited children from other parts of the island to take the opportunity of meeting him and have a photo taken with him.

It was a special day in school and we prepared a warm and comfortable grotto for Father Christmas - thanks to our volunteer parent helpers who happily designed and decorated the grotto.

Over the course of the year, we invite parents who have the time to help and set-up special spaces for our children to enjoy. This has always been a successful activity for parents to get together, get to know each other and build a strong community. If you would like to partake in future Parent Helper events, sign-up to our "Parent Helper" list to receive an e-mail for our next activity.

Students from Early Years to Year 6 went to the grotto to sit with Father Christmas and just have a delightful time with him, asking him questions and learning about him. This year, Father Christmas taught our students how to do a proper "Ho-Ho-Ho" (a very important part of his job!)

In the afternoon, from 2:45 Father Christmas welcomed our guests from different parts of the island. We had some really sweet children turn up in their festive costumes. For some, it was their first time to see Santa, while for others it's like catching up with an old friend which made them very happy!
