This year, ISS celebrate Loy Krathong in true Northeastern (Isan) style! The event began with a heartfelt tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, with 93 seconds of silence—one for each year of her life.
Our students then took the stage with wonderful cultural performances, followed by a variety of cultural and meaningful activities inspired by the rich traditions of Northeastern Thailand.
A big thank you to our ISS Thai Parents Community for preparing delicious local dishes, and to our Thai Department teachers for organising a variety of engaging activities to help students learn about Isan culture.
During their lessons, students created their own eco-friendly krathongs, which they later floated in the pool as a gesture of respect and gratitude to the Spirit of Water, while asking for forgiveness and blessings.
It was a truly special day of learning, sharing, and celebrating Thai culture together.
