Students from both Primary and Senior Schools will perform a traditional dance at the Loy Krathong celebrations next month.
Loy Krathong is a festival that combines many elements of Thai culture including veneration of the Buddha and natural phenomena, particularly water. It is symbolically a celebration of the water goddess Phra Mae Khongkra and the floating of krathongs represents the letting go of anger and hatred.
At ISS we celebrate Loy Krathong in the traditional manner with dancing and Thai costumes in honour of the mythical Queen Noppamas.
