The Samui School’s Football League 2018/2019 came to a close on Friday 23rd March with some thrilling matches under the burning sun.
ISS finished the tournament in style, fighting hard till the end in all their games. Close to 50 of our students took part in the final matches, that’s nearly one fifth of our students representing their school. Mr Cosslett, who founded the league in 2017, alongside the loyal support from Mr A., Mr Roberts and Pi Chompoo this year, together were so proud to watch our students pick up three 2nd place cups for U12 girls, U16 girls and U16 boys. Fantastic work from our students.
Huge congratulations to all students who were nominated as player of the match. Barney, Yong-Seon and Alex were nominated for the boys U15, U9 and U12’s team’s. Seraphina was nominated as player of the match for the U12 girl’s team and ___ for the U15 girl’s team. Well done to you all!
The league involves 4 international and bi-lingual schools on the island, ISS, Oonrak, LIS and Panyadee. Since the handover to Samui United Academy who organise and host the league, all the matches take place on their home-ground pitches in Chaweng.
