Senior School Triaton 2018

Senior School Triaton 2018 was another success!

We did it again! This time with more people joining in.

A new annual event was launched in 2017, thanks to the initiative of our parent Suzetta, aimed at developing our senior students' passion to be physically fit and healthy. We called it the Senior School "Triaton".

It was a whole day event, from 9am until 2:30pm. The course consisted of three phases: 100m swim (up from 75m swim last year); 30 battle rope repetitions; and 3 laps of the running circuit around the car park. The participants repeated this course 3 times and their average times were calculated to determine the winners.

We had an even more vibrant atmosphere this year as students from Oonrak Koh Samui School participated in the challenge. Everyone did a fantastic job working through the course under a RealFeel® of 35 Degrees Celsius based on AccuWeather.com.

(From AccuWeather: RealFeel® uses multiple factors including the temperature, humidity, cloud cover, sun intensity and wind to explain how hot it really feels)

Last year's winners

In April 2017, Arabella Lees (Year 8 now studying @ Millfield in the UK), aced the Triaton with a recorded average time of 11 mins 30 seconds. Paul-Eric (Year 8) arrived a close 2nd with a time of 12mins05. Then followed by Anrai Lawlor and Tom Maestracci, in that order.

Consistency is key

Paul-Eric wins Senior Triaton 2018

This year, Paul-Eric (Year 9) beat his own record and last year's record, completing an even longer course in 11 minutes, 14 seconds.

Diego (Year 10) was not very far behind with a record of 11 minutes 41 seconds.

And Anrai (Year 8) is still in his game having scooped up the third place with a recorded time of 11 minutes 58 seconds.

Congratulations to all the winners and participants of Triaton 2018, especially to our good friends from Oonrak who welcomed Suzetta's invitation to join our school in this purposeful event! See you all in 2019!!
